Fantasy was the first of a seminal series of eight cruise ships built by Wärtsilä now Meyer Turku for Carnival Cruises. At her time, Fantasy was amongst the largest passenger ships in service, starting the trend of large ships in contemporary mainstream passenger shipping. While often overlooked by ship enthusiast, the Fantasy Class played a crucial role in growing Carnival Cruises and thus the whole cruise industry.
