Norwegian Spirit was built at Meyer Werft as SuperStar Leo for erstwhile Star Cruises starting a whole series of Meyer Werft ships for the Star Group. In 2005 she was transferred to Norwegian Cruise Line and renamed Norwegian Spirit.
